My name is Maureen and I live in a town called George, which is situated at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains in the Western Cape, South Africa. For those of you who do not know this Mountain range, here is a picture:
Quite lovely, right? Well of course!! On our other side, we have the ocean. Our 2 closest beaches are both 10 minutes away from my home, on either side of George.

I am a proud mother of a 22 year old Boy, and a 13 year old daughter. I married my Best Friend on March 31st of this year and my daughter and I am awaiting our visas to join Alfred in Canada. Hopefully that will be very soon!
I was introduced to quilting by my Aunt Bobbi and currently belong to the Outeniqua Quilter's Guild. I am still fairly new at quilting as I have not made that many quilts but I love learning new techniques and one day would like to master the art of hand quilting.
My favorite past time is cross stitching and I have started some embroidery as well. Embroidery, well, I am teaching myself via YouTube! An amazing place to find tutorials!! Here is one of my 1st cross stitches I have made and I am particularly proud of it:
